You left the same comment on my post, but at the time I submitted there was nothing in the topic in the front page, nothing in the new queue, and the url had not been submitted.
In a system like this, duplicates are not the fault of the submitter, they are an inevitable consequence of the system.
more useful to just search for a keyword like "basecamp", at least when it comes to actual "news" that is reported from multiple sources, since it's not just about exact matches (vs if you are submitting someones private blog about some fun tech thing, it's relatively unlikely that there's a content dupe from another source, although that also sometimes happen if some news outlet wrote about the blog post and that got submitted - which it shouldn't, but happens)
