The Dhall configuration language: maintainable configuration files (dhall-lang.org)

Dhall looks lovely. Just enough programmability to avoid repetition, but not Turing complete so it can't evolve all the way to reading mail.

Or at least, that's the promise - it's on my list of "solutions to try as soon as the problems catch up to the corresponding level".
