Ask HN: How do you use RSS minimally on mobile browsers?

1 points by mastrsushi ↗ HN
I don't want a standalone app to hop back and forth between my browser. Nor do I want to embed a browser into an app. I simply want a local web page on my phone for my own use where upon a refresh, I get the latest RSS pages for my subscriptions.

Is this too difficult, or would it be easier to just have an app with an embedded browser?

There are many sites that store your RSS feeds in the cloud, those will simply be a webpage where you can see your latest feeds.

For example: https://feeder.co/

If you want to keep rss stories locally, I think you will need a separate app because this isn’t built into any mobile browsers that I know of.

There are online RSS readers that would do what you want. One example would be The Old Reader (not affiliated in any way): https://theoldreader.com

However, on iOS most RSS readers embed the Safari browser as a Safari View Controller for actually viewing the content, so it carries over your history and ad blockers.
