Hey HN!

We're Beehive, a social app that lets you call your friends without needing to schedule. With Beehive, there's no more catching a friend at a bad time, sending texts back-and-forth to coordinate, or wondering if they even want to talk to you. Simply make a post with a topic, set an expiry time of 5-60 mins, and wait for a friend to call you! If you see a post on your feed, it means that friend is willing and able to chat. Our calls last about 10 mins, so it's perfect to pass time during a walk or wait.

A few months ago, we launched Beehive as an audio version of Quora or Stack Overflow [1]. You could post any question and get a call from someone with an answer. That problem ended up being too broad and vague. People just didn't know what to post.

Then, something interesting happened: our users started using Beehive to call their friends. We saw people talk about their day, tell a funny story, or meet up in person. That's when we redesigned Beehive to be the easiest way to call and keep in touch with your friends [2].

We'd love for you to try out the new version of Beehive on iOS and Android with your friends and let us know your thoughts!

To be blunt: you need to talk to users/understand your users if your first instinct is to post here for this.
This is a cool idea! I downloaded it. I didn’t realize it’s kind of a mystery of who can call. Seems fun.

1.One thing that stopped me from continuing was making an account. I want to login with my phone number, and preferably use Google Voice

2. My biggest gripe is that I have to invite my friends.
