If I told you here is the sequence:

You answer I don't have enough information,
maybe it is 1 1 1 ... or 1 2 3 etc
So the same goes for all tests asking given
n numbers what is the next number; there is a
unique polynomials of degree at most n - 1 that
interpolate these sequence of numbers!
But why should we restrict our self to just polynomials;
A savvy mathematician would tell you I will peek any
application from natural numbers to itself.
In the end IQ test is more about telepathy and normalization (we have same __limited__ culture) than any other factor.
The same goes for verbal ability and image recognition.

[ 5.4 ms ] story [ 12.5 ms ] threadSequence questions in IQ tests would provide enough information to have provable answer. Most of these questions are intentionally easy to measure the speed of getting an answer.
