The Rant Against IQ

If I told you here is the sequence: 1 what is the next numbers? You answer I don't have enough information, maybe it is 1 1 1 ... or 1 2 3 etc So the same goes for all tests asking given n numbers what is the next number; there is a unique polynomials of degree at most n - 1 that interpolate these sequence of numbers! But why should we restrict our self to just polynomials; A savvy mathematician would tell you I will peek any application from natural numbers to itself.

In the end IQ test is more about telepathy and normalization (we have same __limited__ culture) than any other factor.

The same goes for verbal ability and image recognition.

If I told you here is the sequence: 1 what is the next numbers?

2.

Sequence questions in IQ tests would provide enough information to have provable answer. Most of these questions are intentionally easy to measure the speed of getting an answer.
