Ask HN: Do Public Profiles Encourage Fake Reviews
I'm probably missing something obvious, but based on the instructions in this article it seems like making all comments anonymous (and all profiles private) would go a long way to reducing the problem of paid-for-reviews:

Couple this with a couple of other speed-bumps (time delays, scraper repellant) , and it feels like it would be too big of a hassle to pay for reviews at scale.
That said, I'm not so dumb as to think that I've solved a puzzle that Amazon hasn't yet; so what am I missing?
