Ask HN: How do you stay relevant in your field?

I'm setting 1, 3, and 5-year goals for myself around working to stay relevant. I find myself seeing articles on HN that mean less and less to me (Swift Actors? TF is that? :) ) and I want to make sure that I'm not letting myself stagnate.
