Show HN: Allma.io UI-Less Incident Collaboration

9 points by madsgo ↗ HN
Hi everyone, Founder here. We're opening early access to our Slack-native incident collaboration tool and would be great to get feedback from the HN community and build to your needs.

Allma is building next generation alerting, incident response, and service cataloging, natively in Slack. We built Allma because of our experience navigating incidents as software engineers, infra folks, customer-facing team members and everything in between! The entire organization is involved in incidents, and we need a better way to mitigate and resolve them together. Allma is a tool that brings the whole company together to resolve incidents faster and communicate easier.

Allma plugs directly into your existing tooling and incident process and is pre-loaded with configurable, incident guidance from 300+ Engineering leaders. Allma makes it clear who's doing what during an incident, and keeps everyone up-to-date with status updates from beginning to resolution.

Hey folks! I'm Sean, the CTO of Allma.

Would love to chat about the product if folks have any questions!

This looks very, very cool. I'll absolutely check this out and show my team in work!
Sounds like a nice value-add to our IR workflow. Does it work with PagerDuty?
Yes! Right now we have a PD integration that will allow us to receive your alerts, and once you bind them to an Allma Incident, manage the alerts for you as well!
Very cool stuff! What was hard or unexpectedly easy about setting up the Slack workflow?
Thanks! In terms of backend engineering, I'd say one of the trickiest things is always depending deeply on a third party service or provider to be the backbone of the value you add.

That's a pretty high level answer, but in general that's the most difficult to wrangle with over time, in my opinion.

To give a more concrete answer, every slack instance and the way people configure it can be a little different, and in some cases we found it tricky to find the right consistent location to pull information like display names from.

In terms of what is unexpectedly easy, Slack themselves been great at giving us feedback and advice for building on their platform!
