Ask HN: How to ask for a raise to match inflation / CoL increase?

Inflation has been surging lately, I’m just wondering the best way to ask for a raise in this environment. Hopefully a raise that’s bigger than the 2-3% most companies give, because inflation plus the increase in CoL / housing has been higher than that.

I would not recommend this approach to asking for a raise, because companies generally set pay based on what they need to attract and keep workers of the desired quality, not based on employees' needs. You need to demonstrate that you are worth X to them and/or that comparable employers are offering more.
