Ask HN: What is the best network equipment brand for a new home?

We're building a new home, it's 2600 sqft + an unfinished basement (1300 sqft). What brand of network equipment should I go with? Ubiquiti was the default choice until a few years ago, but after the recent breach(es), not so sure. Recommendations?

I can't really speak to WiFi as that is ever evolving, but for a L2 switch, Buffalo [1] make a great switch for terminating your ethernet connections. I've been using them for years. They are great for low cross-talk on long runs. Low power usage. It can run for a long time on a small UPS.
