Canada is becoming a police state. Government decides what you watch. Government tells you if you can visit another country. Government tells you how many years you must wait for elective surgery.
It's funny how the West criticised China or Russia for censorship and firewalling the internet...
Now they seem to be in a contest who makes more restrictive and privacy-free network...
It's not a coincidence, cultural Marxism has invaded the West. Partly this is because we don't have real struggles like war or famine to deal with, so some have become mesmerized with intersectionalism and wokeness.
To advance a Marxist society in Canada and the US, the playbook is that dissent, facts and history must be suppressed or rewritten. You can see that in statue toppling, the 1619 project, and the loyalty tests being applied to the US military currently.
Canada is a special case in North America in that they started down the road to censorship and Marxism over 20 years ago, and is home to many CCP princelings (Xi and Bo Xilai's children live in Canada, the latter working for Power Corp.) Trudeau and his close cronies abstain from votes criticising the CCP, despite what the rest of his party does.
> Granting bureaucrats the power, for example, to require YouTube to silence Jordan Peterson, fine Spotify for something Joe Rogan says on a podcast, or impose on independent podcasters such as Sam Harris an obligation to contribute to the production of Canadian content is as dangerous as it is absurd.
I wasn’t able to find sources for this. The article is confusing considering it was written by a lawyer
If author can't parse the proposal/give any real insight into discussion other than so and so wasn't clear, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about and lete make sure to mention China, why write the piece at all?

Partisan fearmongering.
