Hey HN! My name Alex and I'm the founder of Wonder Interactive here, we're developing a web-based social platform called VRland.

Another developer and I started building VRland because we're passionate about virtual worlds that mirror our society. It's 2021 and the barrier to entry is still high - you need to know how to code/use a game engine like Unity/Unreal. So we thought, what if you could talk the world-building aspects of Minecraft or Second Life, and bring them a universal platform like the web?

The idea is that now anyone can create an immersive 3D/VR space with our easy to use editor, without needing to know how to code. We've been compared to VRchat, but in the browser.

You can customize your space by uploading images, videos, gifs, models, or even MP3 files into your spaces.

In times like this where we can't be together, virtual worlds have succeeded in bringing us together. Animal Crossing has been used for business meetings, and Fortnite has held immersive concerts that don't require a real life stage an audience. Personally, we believe we're in the early innings of the metaverse, but the platform that will succeed will focus on providing the best tools for user-generated content, while being universally accessible and platform-agnostic.

Would be cool to move realworld assets into virtual worlds, and vice versa.
would it work from other things too? not everyone can get a vr. I think it would be more successful on VR and on PC. something like a first person view.
