I am alone noticing that you can't anymore copy/paste slides between presentations or diagrams between different google drive documents

It's interesting to watch Google's quality of service going downhill pretty much across the board. I used to be surprised at even smallest bugs; now I cannot sign in to Google Play console without going through Incognito Tab, and it's just par for the course.

I was once invited to a Google Meet as a "guest", only to be redirected to sign in with my Google account (I don't have one!)

I had no issue with that, but slides kept "losing" my figures while it was open - it got quite frustrating since I was trying to record a talk.
