With HN recently devolving into a propaganda site for the lab leak conspiracy theory, recent UFO mania, and now long-debunked miracle cure truthers making a comeback, I guess this will be my last visit to this site. The chaff is just not worth the wheat anymore. Have fun everyone!
This treatment may or not be effective. Hopefully it is. To me, this analysis seems pretty basic and surface-level. It fails to examine other factors going on which may also be mitigating the number deaths in different areas. It really doesn't have the rigor of anything scientific. It's like a collection of coincidences. Unfortunately, I see anti-vaxxers using this as an excuse to not get the vaccine on social media a lot nowadays.
edit: great, one of the promoters of this crap downvotes me before it gets flagged and now I lost karma because no one had a chance to come back and undo it
Ivermectin seems incredibly effective and it's a shame that this medicine hasn't gotten more attention. I think the reason that it hasn't received attention is because it puts a dent in the vaccine narrative, where there's billions of dollars at stake.
For one, an emergency authorization of the mRNA vaccines wouldn't have been possible if there were other treatments available. So Ivermectin threatened pharmaceutical profits.
Second, the NIH is a joint holder of the patents on mRNA vaccines, so government stakeholders are impacted as well.
Finally, drugs like Ivermectin don't align with the same ingress and egress "passport" control like vaccines do. The vaccine passport platform represents a powerful way to track and control human movement, similar to the processes put in place after 9/11, so the security apparatus has a huge stake in this as well.
What's best for the health of the general population has seemed to take a backseat to the financial and security interests of the elite, science be damned.

edit2: thank you whoever restored it!
