Makes me worry there will be a nasty backlash somewhere in the industry no matter what...it’s possible HN can’t analyze this usefully without rancor, though.

I’d say the Reuters article I posted is less germane than the FB announcement[1], but the key reason I posted was Culliford’s observation:
This new timeline denies Trump a major social media megaphone ahead of the November 2022 national midterm elections, when his party will be competing for Congressional seats.
Which I feel could provoke a backlash against the industry. YMMV.
This is not on the front page, which is why people keep posting new links (they assume it's not been submitted yet). Given how many points it has and how recent it is, it must have been flagged off of the front page.
