I've been an Android/Windows user my whole life, until I got a MacBook as a gift last year. Now, I don't ever want to go back to the old ways. I'm also switching to an iPhone from my Samsung. Apple stuff works. It just works every time I turn it on.
Nah, it's simply recognition that attention to (hardware) detail is exclusive to Apple. Software has many downsides but isn't worse than Windows and looks bwautiful.
