Windows CPU scheduler does not handle variable CPU cores. They differ in performance and CPU instruction support etc..

    AMD's short-lived laptop competitiveness is already waning ... Intel will launch Alder Lake in the second half of 2021.

Intel is better at marketing and at bullying manufacturers and dealers to push their product. But newer AMD laptops continue to have an edge and are much cheaper than Intel laptops.

   Intel is also re-investing in the (high-end) desktop, could leapfrog AMD in the data center, and seems to be overtaking AMD-Xilinx for FPGA leadership.

    AMD is slow to transition to the leading edge in process technology. For example, AMD will not launch 5nm laptop CPUs until 2023, when Intel might have outsourced (TSMC) 3nm.

Yeah, Intel "could", "may" or "might have".
