Intel offered to acquire SiFive for more than $2B (bloomberg.com)

Oh, I was wondering how long an open source, (presumably) backdoor-free hardware platform was going to last.

This would be bad on a business standpoint because SiFive has the capacity to go way beyond $2B, with states scrambling for chip sovereignity.
