Ask HN: Why do Product Managers avoid writing detailed requirement docs?

It seems like most PMs prefer coming up with a high level spec, let the engineer ask questions and then figure stuff out as you go.

I have not really seen a PM who makes an attempt at flushing out most details ahead of time. Do other engineers have the same experience?
