If you ever watch shows like Attack of the Show back from the early 2000s you will be shocked by the abundance of ass smacking, titty grabbing, humping, all manner of depravity. It is incredible how quickly social mores change. Before the social media outrage spread by word of mouth. Now a man is hung, drawn and quartered in minutes.
The irony is on e of the guys of the’Man Show’, Jimmy Kimmel, is a super woke late night host.

It is all about audiences and the $$. Th thing is that mainstream tv, as it has lost spice, and has become sanitized, it has also lost users in mass. So, tv networks have to compete for a smaller audience

All those are still doable to girls/women that like you. But the trick is that women standards, probably because of Tinder et al., have skyrocketed so the average guy is by default seen as a creep, even by average women. And at the same time women have less to offer than before (few can cook anymore for instance) so the dating scene because really unbalanced. All of this while any masculine behavior is criminalized (soon a consent passeport will be needed to say hello to a woman) and heavily criticized by the media. At some point all of this will have macro-consequences on society.
I would like to take a moment to pour vitriol on marketing targeting consumers, because the over-abundance of envy-inducing ads leads people to rank status and by association attractiveness by worldly possessions.

Ads with pale-skin models targeting darker-skinned communities have to stop.

This is relevant because people take a lot better to being approached by people they believe are attractive.

This really makes me wonder what kind of insane, twisted world we live in. There is so much wrong with this much inhibition on completely natural stuff.
There are only two social orders we know of today: capitalism and marxism. Only marxist regimes are known for the perverse desire to control private lives of people. It's why I think this sort of distortions in the US come from a small group of ideological marxists.
In the "good old days" men could experiment with flirting and mess it up first few times before figuring the game. In the rare incident where a woman got really upset, her blast radius was limited to her friends and family. Today the blast radius is the entire internet and everything is recorded on a public board for tens of years. This much risk can be justified only in exceptional cases and casual chat isn't such case. Eventually the society will figure out how to cook internet social networks, but this woke generation will be lost.
I'm curious to watch dating and flirting evolve in a world of entire generations knowing nothing but Instagram, TikTok, Tinder and Snapchat, not to mention a year-long pandemic and the rise of school/work-from-home, shopping moving online, libraries moving online and so on.

We have already seen online dating lead to over 50% of couple formations as of today, I can only imagine that those numbers will get larger with each year. Will stumbling upon someone for the first time in real life soon be a remnant of the past?

I agree with the commenters that there's no way to suppress the human drive to mate, but what mating looks like in the next couple of decades is anybody's guess. Sounds like a great time to be alive for anthropologists.

There is nothing like one universal model of dating. Mating habits change more or less once per generation. And they look different for various societies, cultures, social classes, sexual preferences etc. Human beings are surprisingly flexible and adaptive in their mating habits.

So this change is normal and natural. Only grumpy old men long for good old times.
