"Chinese vice-minister of State Security, Dong Jingwei, has reportedly defected to the US and given information about the Wuhan Institute of Virology which is at the centre of the COVID-19 lab leak theory."
Of course it's from the lab. What are the odds that a pandemic randomly starts in a city that has a virology lab which studies just that kind of virus?
But also: of course we need more solid evidence before official accusations.

There have been many escapes from labs over the years, at least dozens of them. There has never even been an outbreak as a result. In fact, every single pandemic, epidemic and outbreak, every single one we know about since the dawn of time, had its origins in people living and working close to animals. Every. Single. One.
What are the chances that this time it came from a lab? Nearly zero. It is /possible,/ but the odds of a pandemic originating from a bio-lab are vanishingly slim, especially when there is a wet market as a smoking gun. Lab breaches and escapes happen, but they have never caused any trouble.
The problem always has been people living and working too close to animals. Of course this pandemic, like every other pandemic, epidemic and outbreak, ever, originated the same way.

The location of the lab was not chosen arbitrarily either.

Source? The link you posted mentions nothing about that. Not saying you're wrong, I just want to hear where you heard that.
