And that's why we're in the process of opening up.
Canadian governments are a joke and have always been a joke. I'm truly ashamed to live here.
I, for one, am grateful to be a Canadian and appreciate everything the governments (federal and provincial) have done.

Edit: wrt COVID-19 response.

Everything? Including, say, quarantine monitors demanding to speak with the young children of people in isolation? Making fully vaccinated travelers quarantine for 14 days on return to the country? Outdoor mask mandates?
The lockdowns quickly became less about actual science, and more about government power.
Just like land borders being effectively closed to 99% of people (except the cross-border truckers/workers that go back and forth frequently and travel the deepest into USA or work in the highest risk occupations (health care)), while air borders are wide open to anywhere you can get into...
In Spain we are supposed to be grateful for the lifting of mask wearing outdoors on the 26th even though its pretty established the transmission outdoor is close to 0. It's become safety theatre at this point completely disconnected to the actual science.
There's a nice graph that shows Canada having a relatively low death rate but this is somehow an indictment of Canadian policies.
