Hyundai are huge in industrial technology across the board. Mining, construction. They have a robotics division. This isn't about some small car company which sells small volumes in the USA. They're a Chaebol. This is a $150b plus conglomerate (or not: they restructured)
I think Vice have been lazy here. It's not hard to know what a major mining and construction and technology company sees in robotics. Robot self-driving trucks are taking up in the opencast mining world, deep mining tech would exploit things. Even if they decide bipedalism or quadripedalism is stupid they'll have assets and IPR outcomes.
