WTF is with FB web client lately?

Go to Facebook logged in, the and post or comment and you end up rerouted to the equivalent of a 404 with a message implying posting exceeded some chapter limits.

I hold on to FB due to a historical group. But as a software engineer I’d love to publically challenge Zuck to fixing this level of idiotic bullshit fb has brought on.

Sorry you want to track every keystroke but at least keep up with us and context. Fuck zuck and the whole fb web client team - they are doing this to push people to the app.

I'm very happy with the Facebook web UI on mobile. It's pretty much broken for me, so I can't waste my time there.

For example, the main hamburger menu doesn't work at all on my iPhone 7.

I usually log in with /?sk=h_chr tacked on to the domain name, this forces reverse chronologic order of postings. I also use AdBlockPlus to try to keep the spam down.

It sucks that most of my screen is taken up with columns on the left and right that I don't want.

But, it keeps me in touch with friends and family, so I put up with it.

Yes, it does seem to be bugging out a bit more than it used to.

Why not switch to uBlock Origin, that is a widely better content blocker, and also allows you to remove (zap) the visual elements you don't want, like sidebars and such? I don't have FB, but I've had great success doing this on sites like StackOverflow.

Used to love uBlock Origin but it doesn't work on Safari anymore unfortunately.

Lots of problems for me too.

First reaction : angry at that bloated FB nudging me hard to switch to their app

Second reaction : thankful for this pain to help me quit

(removal of messenger from the mobile web version finally coming to iPhones helped me cut my reliance on FB by 80% actually !)

The worse they get, the better !
