really heading to the mega-est corps to see what answers from hundred-thousands-of-engineer headcount despair land look like.
it does, of course, pay a heck of a lot. and if you don't screw it up, can find a sustainable ok pace to run at, in an ok environment, with many other capable folk, it's a great job.
but gee like I really want the opinions of outlandish fantastical engineers well backed by their corporation to push & excel. this article is both extremely wise, extremely true, but it also tells only the tepid pragmatic tale. few companies can or would back us but sometimes they do. sometimes there is joyous good work to get up to. company/companions that just wants to keep winning, keep exceeding, keep doing well. that that is usually not the mission, or we fall out of skew eventually... let the doubt not be (only) on us, about happiness. when can the company align to our happinesses, see our better seen more virtuous, imminent tech truths work bringing about? why must our happiness be judged so to rest upon our ability to eliminate & pass by our own our will & tastes?
