Brazil: iPhone theft for bank account credentials (heise.de)

I Brazil increasingly IPhones get stolen not for the hardware but for accessing owners bank accounts.

It seems to be older devices with iOS versions that can be jailbroken (or the owner doesn't use a lock screen?). Otherwise it would seem odd that criminal gangs can do what the FBI cannot.
