NCAA Votes to Let Athletes Earn Money Based on Their Names and Images (npr.org)

This is by design a temporary solution according to the NCAA but I wonder if it will just end up being permanent.

With the recent court ruling, especially the opinion that all but encouraged a civil action against the NCAA, this was probably a very prudent decision on their part.
