Ask HN: What are your tips to excel at a new remote job?
I will be starting a new job as infrastructure architect at a tech company/(some sort of MSP), after a long career (10 years) as Dev Tech Lead and then Regional Head of IT at a Oil and Gas company (!) and I am a bit nervous on how to start with the right foot at the new place.
I am looking mostly at advice in terms on how to quickly absorb the new culture and then become a good asset at the new employer, which is touted by several friends/new coworkers as a good company to be at.
What are your Do's and Don'ts in these times when you start remote at a new job?

Make sure you’ve got a good microphone. It’s the primary communication channel between you and your coworkers and the better you sound the easier it is to connect.
