What is really amazing is that all current approved vaccines seem to reduce the risk of serious consequences (like dying) from COVID-19. The fact that some vaccines cannot protect against re-infections is worrying, but so far most reports seem to indicate that most of them have far less serious consequences than infections of non-vaccinated persons.
