Ask HN: What would a (much) better AngelList look like?
As a candidate, the problems I've faced on AL are:
- often not enough info in the job postings I come across
- it's too easy to apply (this makes my application one in a hundred)
- my applications stay pending for days (or weeks sometimes)
As a hiring manager:
- far too much noise. Candidates who are completely unqualified, not in the locations I'm hiring in, or too junior apply
- not great if I'm hiring for fractional, freelance/part-time, or contract roles (doing more of this now)
- copy/paste (cover letter) applications
- no way to get senior talent to consider applying (for all the problems outlined above)
What is good:
- salary/equity info
- free (unless you're sourcing)
- quick to get started
