I won’t speak to how much we need DHA as adults or at what levels, but it’s found in algae and thus vegan DHA supplements exist. Ripple even makes a protein and DHA enhanced vegan milk substitute for kids that is pretty good.
Yeah, this is something people should understand before they decide to go "vege" way... they must understand that their grass based diet needs at least DHA, B12 and Taurine suplementation.
How eating pills fit to the "healthy" lifestyle? :)

There is a company called Omega Quant that can give you a blood test which measures your O6 & O3 levels.
I did it and my ratio was 3.5:1 (O6:03), which is considered pretty good. I'm vegetarian and I don't eat much fish. I was only taking fish oil supplements (2g/day usually). The one thing I did do prior to the test was avoid consuming most vegetable/seed oils (except olive oil, which is actually fruit oil). These oils spike your O6 levels and are in practically everything, so you have to read ALL the nutrition labels even on things like bread.
Now I've started eating some fish (mackerel mostly, which I actually like) so maybe I will improve it further.

This is not true. World Health Organization and UNICEF have no opinion.
It's easy to find sources post dating hers that say it's unknown -
