Will the closing of Google Labs kill innovation? (wepolls.com)

I thought they were supposed to have "20 percent" of time dedicated to innovation. I love Google, but closing down the womb that birthed Maps, and Docs, and crap I use every single day sends a bad sign, at least it does to me.
