This is excellent news, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was an excellent four player game and my friends and I were deeply disappointed with the shortcomings of the recent remaster released for various platforms.
The remaster was such a disappointment. They re-released one of the best couch co-op games of all time without couch co-op. :/
I think literally anything would be better than reading this news. I’m glad this non-problem has been solved so that people can emulate GBA games, just incredible. (I understand that this adds features that were missing and to that end I would say as an -avid- gamer I couldn’t care any less about those features than I do now, which is already very little.)
As always, dolphin blogposts are excellent and make a good job to acknowledge the efforts from many people it took to reach usability.
Dolphin's progress reports are the best I've ever seen in the software industry.
The technical stuff is a bit over my head but their write ups are so good at explaining things I always read them in full anyway.

I don't even play GameCube games, but I really respect the Dolphin team.

Zelda Four Swords Adventures with netplay? That's pretty amazing.

It means the difficultly in playing Four Swords Adventure authentically has been greatly reduced. Now it only requires a laptop per player. Great news

Tried it out with some friends a couple hours ago, worked like a charm!
> But before we could connect to another emulator, we needed to understand how the connection actually works. GameCube games will actually encrypt the GBA binary that is sent to the various games, and the way it does this actually posed a bit of a problem for Dolphin early on. The encryption process took place on the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) under a special microcode that we refer to as the GBA microcode. Now this may sound weird, as most people consider the GameCube/Wii's Digital Signal Processor (DSP) specifically for audio emulation, but sometimes it could be used for other tasks. In this case, it is used to encode the executable sent to the GBA as a weak form of obfuscation.

woah!
