A new version of GitLab is out which comes with a bunch of features for the $99/user/month plan such as code quality inline in merge requests, status checks API etc. Had hoped this would be available all paid tiers of Gitlab :(

Does also seem to have added tracing and metrics of CI pipelines/jobs but only for Datadog

In GitLab 14.1, we added 91 features to our Core (free) offering, 8 to Premium, and 12 to our Ultimate ($99/user/month) tier.

We're always working to sustain and add to our open source offering while also using our buyer-based open core mythology to select the right tier for features. https://about.gitlab.com/company/stewardship/

I understand but personally I would at least expect feature parity with the CI features of Github. I mean, I don't understand why inline code quality, approval checks API, or the ability to combine multiple code quality reports of a job needs to fall under Ultimate but things like Terraform State is for all tiers.
