Tangential. Middle management should be replaced by secretaries and pas. Keeping track of time and organising “fun” team building events or nagging about process is perfectly suitable for the two roles. At least people working these two types of jobs are secure enough to not freak out when people are working outside their controlling sight.

To the degree that a human communication limit between nodes, there will need to be a level of intermediation and interpretation that doesn’t go away.
