clickbait nonsense headline. article even contains the truth:

I hope this doesn't get normalized. Otherwise we might start seeing more malware planted by fake door to door telecom maintenance people. With business models like those of MLM, many innocent people would be harmed/unknowingly recruited.
There's no way this would be cost effective for malware authors, especially considering the risk involved in physically putting yourself out there.

Wait, does this mean they literally went door to door trashing equipment then moving on? shouldn't they then also help those people fix the problem or get a new router?

I’m not aware of the actual process they had, but it is likely they actually replaced or aided with the replacement.

I’m guessing the experience wasn’t some type of swatting, where the GeekSquad loudly breaks in at 4 AM with flash bangs, shouting “WHERE’S THE ROUTER, WHERE’S THE ROUTER!”.
