Whataboutism is far from useless. By comparing similar subjects one can see their traits with greater clarity. When whataboutism is used to deflect from the original subject then it is useless for anyone seeing clarity.
Like many tactics it all depends on how it is used.
I am just trying to say that politicians say "they did it" without showing any evidence for it.
What's wrong with that? Or should we never question anything?
Sure, that's valid. I takes most things the Russian gov says with a grain of salt but we shouldn't always question everything because that is their prime tactic of control - simultaneous information and disinformation.
