The Future Web: Will Canvas Rendering Replace the DOM? (medium.com)

It's no longer an interwoven hyperlinked system of documents, it's not longer the web if this happens: it's just pretty pictures, unscrapable, un-user-scriptable, with arbitrary actions undernearth. There's no rules, no medium here: just animated whatever, pixels blasted in your face, with no structure, no documents, no system underneath. This would never ever be anything like the web.

Interesting I have been thinking about the same thing in the past few months. At least for Web Apps.

But I cant read the article on Medium. Why is everyone putting their blog on Medium anyway?
