Ask HN: How do you break out of an algo silo on sites like YouTube and Spotify

I am sure this is a problem on all social media. But it is something I find annoying on Youtube and Spotify, as far as I have noticed.

Both the platforms keep recommending content based on my previous likes. Even when I am trying to find something new, the search results keep returning things similar to my historical views.

I open the sites using a VPN, search, find some new things, and watch/listen to it in my primary account.

But that is tedious and does not change the recommendation fast. It still takes ages to change.

I’ve noticed over the last few months that Spotify’s radio and “mixes” seems to give me way more of what I already listen to and not enough varied recommendations. I liked the old algorithm much better
