Ask HN: How does this “webkey” automatically start controlling my PC?

Not a coder, just a lurker on HN. A company gave me this usb "key" embedded in a business card for further information on their product. When I plug it in thinking it's a usb drive, Windows pops up with a "Setting up USB WebKey" and then somehow starts typing a URL in the run box. How is this possible?

I googled webkey: http://www.webkeyfactory.com/usb-web-key-information.html

A usb device can have a hub inside and contain multiple devices. Those devices could include a ‘keyboard’ and other input devices; looks like that is what you saw.
