The European Commission has solved the problem of euro tech enterpreneurship:

1) keep introducing complicated legislative acts, rules & regulations to ensure Big Government that micromanages every aspect of offline and online life

2) slap a different foreign tech company with a $100+ million fine every quarter

3) channel shakedown money to dead-end pet projects, local newspapers & win election votes

Who needs local world class companies when you can slap a $500 million fine on the Yanks every quarter!

Friendly reminder that when EU hits you with fines of this magnitude, then they are probably _also_ mad at your for other reasons too. Like doing your damnest to not pay any corporate taxes.

At this point, EU is using GDPR the same way US used IRS against Capone.

Still pocket change to a trillion dollar company. To companies this size, fines are just part of the normal operating cost.
