Apple plans to scan US iPhones for child abuse imagery (arstechnica.com)

One disturbing thought in all of this is the image dataset used to train the neural net.

I would never want to be a developer working with that dataset of images. I can't imaging testing that software for effectiveness!

You may have paid for the phone, but you are not its owner - it answers to a different master.
