It's easy to become a bit immature and egotistical when you've collected a bunch of smart grads and you're competing with sad, inferior, last-gen competitors (like MySpace).
And tech companies have a long history of immature pranks [1].
But yeah, the investment firms, not so much. They're detached from the petty brand rivalries. The bottom-line is what matters there. It's a detachment we should all try to learn a little bit from.
