Science fiction isn't about the future, it's commentary about the present.

My interpretation of Believers is that it's meant to be commentary about Jehovah’s Witness and blood transfusion for children.

As such, leaving that connection as a bare footnote, with no additional commentary about that human connection, and existing legal structures, leaves the piece using the sorts of simplistic portrayals that must be made in a 1 hour TV show.

It also feels cherry picked for leaving out discussion of "Confessions and Lamentations", where the Markab on Babylon 5 die because they didn't socially distance while they wait for a treatment to be developed.

I've forgotten why they insisted in being in the same room. But suppose Bab5 security staff forced them to separate - how many might have survived? Given perfect hindsight, should they have been forced to separate?
