Anyone who's seen a Wall Street trading floor has seen the sea of monitors flashing red and green ticks. If your screen is red... you know its a bad day and if its green it's a good day. Beyond that its a ton of flashy noise.
Descriptiv is trying to prioritize the real-time market for you. At this given moment in time what is the most important story going on that affects your portfolio.
Often... you'll see that the catalyst for a stocks movement is coming from a "neighbor" and not the company itself. IE... FB stock could tank because Dorsey is testifying in front of congress.
What you'll see in the two columns here are the "spotlight" piece of the puzzle. The three color bars are attributing the current price movement to movements in the broader market... the peers/neighbors... or Other (which usually means the movement is coming from yourself).
As an example... Casino stocks (LVS, MGM, etc) were all down this morning... we identified a B of A downgrade for Wynn as the catalyst.
Caveats!
We took out real-time (prices will update periodically) and news because of cost/permissions. Internally there is a third column which after spotlighting the catalyst tries to surface a news story that fits.
POC but this is first time sharing this with anyone outside our small group :). Would love to hear what you think!
It is an interesting premise, but I am not interested in a landing page with just a sign up link that tells me nothing about how it works, what information it would give, or to be honest, whether this is even a product or just a vaporware page to gauge interest.
Year sorry, it's behind a login because originally we had RT and news wired in there. Thought this was neat but couldn't freely share RT or news so we stripped them down. Didn't remove the login though.
But yeah, its a functional POC (hence why its void of a lot of marketing info). What you see is a super simplistic dashboard that is following the S&P 500.
