Ask HN: Tax residency being a problem for remote roles?

I have just been denied an FTE remote role due to my tax residency not being in the DACH region (I am still located in the EU country using Euro though).

Did anyone else experience the same problem? How do companies and individuals go about this issue for FTE remote roles?

fulltime employement and the dach region (germany,austria,switzerland)

I once was employed by a German company being a UK resident. They made me resident in Germany for the time it took them to register a UK branch of the company. (This was pre-Brexit). Once that was done, I was able to keep working in Germany but as UK resident.
