Hi HN, as I wrote about earlier[1], my creative sideprojects have been moving to RPG writing from software.
Initially, I (somewhat naively) hoped that I wouldn't need to do much marketing, since there is a central marketplace in the space I write in (Dungeons & Dragons 5e).
Since those assumptions were challenged, I decided to set up a quick landing page with email list signup.
I find that I'm able to apply the software engineering skills I already have to accelerate my learning in this new space in ways that I hadn't imagined before.
As an example: I do all my typesetting with LaTeX and version control everything with git - normal for the audience here, but definitely not in the RPG space.
Likewise, setting up this marketing site was much easier for me than for my peers in the space.
That got me curious: what skills has the HN audience found they can apply to another space?
