If someone made an open iPhone or ThinkPad clone, I'd cheer and be in awe. The value is not in making unique innovative hardware, but making it open and accessible. It can then be the basis of further development.

Overall, nice to know. Reusing a form-factor is more of a benefit than detriment, if it's a good one.

Note that panel and assembly may match, but the electronic guts seems to be different, so it's not just a re-brand. Sadly, it's hard to make open hardware.
