Ask HN: Need advice, worst position in my life

I completed my undergrad in 2019 from very mediocre clg in India. After undergrad is over, I decided to pursue for master in usa and applied to fall 2020, and was doing job in meantime.

Pandemic hit and I had to defer the admit to fall 21. Now fastfoward to 2021, 2nd wave hit, which complicated getting visa. I was not allowed to reach late to university and university told me to either request for defer or be physically present on start date. I applied for defer request (spring 22). And, It was rejected stating that you can reapply, and now they closed spring admission for international stating that they're full. I am planning to apply to others univ, but i am afraid that they will also do the same or will pick only few best applicants.

I left the job in june month which made things even worse.

What should I do ? I have already wasted 2 year chasing this and my scores are also invalid or need improvements to be consider good application for next fall.

I have planned to apply to couple of them, but i am afraid of getting rejection in all of them. and very few good university do spring for international.

I would like to know what should i do next. there is huge part of me which want to pursue master and there is another which says f** it, and join some good company.
