Ask HN: As a remote worker, should I ask for equal pay?

I'm a senior software engineer at an SF-based company. I work remotely from elsewhere in the world.

I'm a few years into my role and my compensation is very generous for local standards, but nowhere near SF level (within the same company).

Should I push for a more equal salary in this company, or perhaps just leave and look elsewhere? At this point I believe I have plenty institutional knowledge to have some leverage, but far from being critical in day to day operations.
